Several acts originally announced for that Freedom 250 concert series are now distancing themselves from it, including Young MC, C+C Music Factory, Martina McBride, the Commodores, Morris Day, Brett Michaels, and Milli Vanilli.
Freedom250, created by Donald Trump, is putting on the event. The confusion may be because America250 is the national, nonpartisan initiative established by Congress to plan, fund, and coordinate the official commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States…not Freedom250.

Were The Who the First Heavy Metal Band? Roger Daltrey Thinks So
When you think of the early days of heavy metal, what bands pop into your mind? Do you think of The Who?
Roger Daltrey thinks they were the very FIRST metal band. He says, quote, "Jim Marshall invented the 4 by 12 [speaker cabinet], 100-watt stack for Pete Townshend.
"All the guitar smashing that Jimi Hendrix became famous for, in his style, was basically copied from Pete . . . The first rock opera, we elevated rock to be maybe up its own ass in a way, you could say. We were doing it before anyone."
This isn't the first time this has been said. In a 2019 interview, Pete said they invented heavy metal with their 1970 album, "Live at Leeds" and were copied by many bands like Led Zeppelin and Cream.
