Food News: BTS Limited-Edition Oreos Will Hit Stores Next Month

BTS Limited-Edition Oreos Will Hit Stores Next Month

BTS is the latest artist to get their own limited-edition Oreos. They'll start hitting stores June 8th.

They're purple with a brown sugar pancake-flavored creme. It's inspired by a popular Korean street food called hotteok.

There are 13 different designs in recognition of 13 years since BTS made their debut. Designs include their light stick, a finger heart, the BTS logo, and the words "Our Universe, BTS Army".

BTS said in a statement, quote, "For Oreo to be the first snacking brand we've collaborated with globally is a huge honor. We ate them as kids, we eat them in the studio, and now Oreo is helping us share a taste of home with the world."

There will also be a QR code on the packaging for fans to submit "love letters" to BTS, which could be "featured on a global stage" . . . whatever that means. They haven't explained it yet.

French’s Launches Limited-Time Green Mustard

Everyone is accustomed to seeing mustard in its iconic yellow color, but French’s is shaking things up a little with a new limited-time release: Goomi’s Green Mustard. It launches nationwide on June 1st in conjunction with the new Minions & Monsters film from Illumination.

The green color of the new mustard comes from spirulina, a plant-based ingredient that doesn’t alter the flavor. The new version utilizes the same #1 grade mustard seeds that French’s has used for generations.

Goomi is a monster character from the new movie who “takes over” the French’s factory, transforming mustard color from yellow to green. The new green mustard was introduced in a campaign at the Grove in Los Angeles, where fans enjoyed hot dogs topped with the new product. There are three new limited-time products in all: Goomi’s Green Mustard, classic yellow mustard in a special Minions & Monsters packaging, and a two-pack that bundles both bottles with a collective Minion topper – available online only.

It May Be An Uncarbonated Drink Summer

Trend watchers say 2026 could be the summer of non-carbonated drinks. Flat beverages, from Liquid Death to Surfside Iced Teas are becoming the drink of choice among younger Americans. Consulting firm AlixPartners says Generation Z's leading the change, mainly because they like to try new things. The generation born between 1997 and 2012 didn't grow up drinking soda as much as Millennials, Gen X and Baby Boomers. It was also the advent of reusable water bottles. And some consumers, no matter what their age, just don't consider carbonated beverages a healthy option.
