Shakira has been acquitted of tax fraud by the Spanish High Court, which means she gets a BOATLOAD of money back.
Shakira has been fighting this battle for eight years, since the Spanish government decided that she owed taxes for the year 2011.
But ultimately, they were unable to prove that she spent 183 days in Spain that year . . . the minimum amount required for residents to pay personal income tax.
According to Shakira's rep, Spain now has to return about $70 million that she was fined back in 2021.
Shakira dedicated her victory to, quote, "the thousands of ordinary citizens who are abused and crushed every day by a system that presumes their guilt and forces them to prove their innocence at the cost of economic and emotional ruin."
