The Strokes' Nick Valensi Taking "Temporary Break" From The Band
Strokes guitarist and co-founder Nick Valensi is sitting out the band's upcoming summer tour for unspecified reasons. The band announced on social media that Valensi is taking a "temporary break" and that longtime friend Steve Schlitz, who played with the Strokes during their early New York days, will fill in on guitar. It's actually the second time this year Valensi has stepped away, with Schlitz also covering for him during an earlier unexplained hiatus before Valensi returned for the band's Coachella performances in April. The Strokes are set to debut at Bonnaroo on June 12th before launching a nationwide headlining tour on June 15th in Clarkston, Michigan. Their sixth studio album, "Reality Awaits," is due June 26th.

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith tried to hijack Will Ferrell's monologue on "Saturday Night Live."
Will Ferrell hosted the season finale of "SNL," but when he was introduced, his doppelganger, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, came out the door instead. They were both in the same suit, and Chad's hair was done a lot like Will's. Chad played drums on all three songs that Paul McCartney performed.

Heavy Metal Stars with No Tattoos
These days, it's hard to find a Sunday school teacher without tattoos, let alone a heavy metal superstar.
But there ARE a handful of metal legends with ink-free bodies. Here are some examples:
1. Zakk Wylde. He says if he ever did get inked, he'd want "Mother", "Father", and then a big Jesus on his back.
2. Dave Mustaine. Quote, "You don't put bumper stickers on a Mercedes."
3. Bruce Dickinson. He says the guys in Iron Maiden don't have to do "heavy metal-type things" because their mascot Eddie can do that stuff for them.
4. Lars Ulrich. He's not keen on the idea of "somebody sticking needles in me." Fellow needle-phobics Alice Cooper and Gerard Way are also tattoo-free.
5. Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler: His older brother got into Nazi stuff, and got a swastika tattoo. Well, their father freaked out, and the tat got infected, and that was enough to turn Geezer off them for good.
6. Trent Reznor. All the way back in 1994, he said that not having tattoos was, quote, "what makes me stand out today."
7. Angus Young. Quote, "We never really plugged in to any trend or fashion, because we always felt that that could come and go so quick."
8. Original Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. He once claimed he was covered in tattoos . . . but they were done with invisible ink. Joey passed away in 2021.

Drake Takes Shots at Kendrick Lamar and LeBron James on His New Album
Drake released THREE albums on Friday: The R&B-heavy "Habibti", a more dance-oriented collection called "Maid of Honour", and the main event: "Iceman".
It's on "Iceman" that Drake made the questionable decision to reignite his beef with Kendrick Lamar. Here are some of his disses:
"Damn, who is this guy for real / I guess a magician / 100 million streams vanished, no one got questions."
"And Muggsy Bogues dunked for once, even I'm a bit amazed."
"White kids listen to you 'cause they feel some guilt and that's how your soul gets fulfilled / Handin' out turkeys on camera inside of your hood, then you go back to the hills / How many houses you build? How many souls did you heal off the back of your deal?"
He also went at LeBron James with these bars:
"I shouldn't even be shocked to see you in that arena / Because you always made your career off of switchin' teams up."
"Please stop askin' about what's goin' on with 23 and me / I'm a real [N-word] and he's not, it's in my DNA."
The album also includes shots at Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Pusha T, Rick Ross, and more.

Dethklok's SFX Triggers Fire Alarms, Cuts Concert Short
This is actually on-brand for Dethklok. The band’s show at Landmark Credit Union Live in Milwaukee on Saturday got cut in half when the band's heavy smoke and fog effects set off the venue's fire alarms about halfway through their set. Co-headliners Amon Amarth and openers Castle Rat had played their full sets without incident earlier in the night. When the alarms triggered, the lights went out, and the sound was cut mid-song. Dethklok mastermind Brendon Small posted on Instagram that the venue was working with the band to make it right for ticket holders, who were told to expect an email with details. The band's "Amonklok Conquest" co-headlining tour with Amon Amarth wraps on Thursday in Las Vegas. Dethklok is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
