Around 14 years ago, Hasbro announced it was developing a movie based on the game "Hungry Hungry Hippos". It still hasn't happened. But we ARE getting this:
A horror movie about a KILLER hippo . . . and it's called "Hungry". The tagline even says, "This Hippo Isn't Playing Games".
And while it sounds like throwaway garbage meant to capitalize on an existing IP, this movie looks like it could be REALLY GOOD, judging by the trailer.
"Hungry" hits On Demand and digital platforms on June 23rd.
Interestingly, there's a line in the trailer that totally contradicts the movie's title and marketing. A guy says, quote, "Hippos are vegetarian. He ain't killing you to eat you. He's killing you for fun."
So not only is he NOT "hungry", but it appears that he IS playing games. Still looks like fun, though.
