Tyler Perry wanted to do something to help those unpaid TSA agents at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, but the feds shut him down.
Tyler showed up at the airport on Thursday with a wad of cash to hand out to them, but was told that federal rules prohibit them from accepting direct cash gifts.
Later that day, Tyler's people returned with $1,000 GIFT CARDS and started handing them out. Supposedly, they had worked through management, HR, and legal channels to make sure it was cool.
Even so, the airport's federal security director decided they couldn't accept those, either. Over the weekend, TSA workers who got gift cards were ordered to RETURN them.
Which is gonna be hard for some people who've already USED them.
