If and when Paramount Skydance buys Warner Brothers Discovery, you can expect Paramount+ and HBO Max to merge into one streaming service.
The move will give them more than 200 million direct-to-consumer subscribers.
Paramount CEO David Ellison says, quote, "We think the combined offering, given the amount of content and what we can do from the tech side, really will put us in a position to be able to compete with the most scaled players in DTC."
He also claims that HBO will continue to, quote, "operate with independence."
