Chick-fil-A Is The Top Fast Food First Date Spot
Some people want to be wowed on a first date, taken somewhere impressive with dim lighting, good wine and food so delicious they’re still thinking about it long after the date ends. They might even be offended if they were taken to a restaurant with a drive-thru the first time they went out with someone, but it turns out, a lot of singles are not quite so selective. A new survey reveals that 70% would even be open to having their first date at a fast food restaurant.
DatingNews polled 15-hundred people between the ages of 18 and 61 who are actively dating to get their thoughts on the dinner dealbreakers for first dates. While traditional types may not be willing to go the nuggets and fries route, a lot of singles are fine with the casual, affordable option.
- Men are the most willing to try fast food for a first date, with 73% saying they’d suggest it or say yes to it, and 67% of women feel the same.
- The thing is, singles are interested in a low-stakes, low-pressure atmosphere and fast food checks those boxes.
- More than half (52%) say they prioritize vibes and connection over cost when planning first dates.
- Coffee shops are the second choice for a low-key, relaxed first date, which 21% of women and 18% of men would be happy to try.
- Getting ice cream, playing mini golf, bowling and arcades are other casual first dates respondents say they’d be open to.
- Chick-fil-A is the top pick for a fast food first date meal, with one in five singles choosing it as their ideal date night location.
- Raising Cane’s and In-N-Out Burger tie for second (11%), followed by Culver’s (10%) and Pizza Hut (8%).
- But not everyone finds a restaurant with fluorescent lighting and food that comes in paper bags appealing for a first date, with 38% of women and 22% of men calling fast food dates “low effort.”
