Final medal count: Norway topped all other nations again with 41 medals, 18 of them gold. Over a third of their golds came in cross-country skiing.
Team USA placed second with 33 medals and 12 golds. It's the most gold medals we've ever won at the Winter Olympics.
The old record was 10 at the Salt Lake City games in 2002.

A few more stats to wrap things up: Team USA's best sport this time was freestyle skiing with eight medals, three of them gold. Speed skating was next at five and two. We also dominated in hockey, with the men AND women winning gold.
Speed skater Jordan Stolz was the only American to win three medals, two of them gold. Seven other U.S. athletes won two apiece. The only other American with multiple golds this time was figure skater Alysa Liu.
American women beat the men again! Female athletes won 17 medals this time, including six golds. The men managed 12 and four. Our other four medals came in mixed events.

Meanwhile, the U.S. women's hockey team took on Canada in the gold medal match and trailed for most of the game.
But they tied it up 1-1 in the third, then WON IT in overtime. Canada took silver. Switzerland took bronze.

And last but not least: American Alysa Liu came from behind to win gold in women's figure skating.
She's the first American woman to win ANY individual figure skating medal in 20 years. The last gold was Sarah Hughes way back in 2002.

Freestyle skier Mac Forehand won Silver in the freeski Big Air after completing a trick that had never been done before. It was something called a nose butter takeoff into three flips and six full rotations.
