Garbage Singer Shirley Manson Flips Out at . . . Beach Balls
If you're going to go see Garbage . . . Garbage singer Shirley Manson wants you to keep your GARBAGE BEACH BALLS at home.
Garbage was performing in Australia recently, and apparently someone started tossing a beach ball around. People sometimes do this for some reason. Some fans get annoyed . . . and apparently performers do too.
Shirley stopped the show to RANT about the beach balls . . . sarcastically shouting, "Guy with your big [effing] beach ball. Ooh, I'm so scared of you. So thrilled by you. What [an effing D-bag]."
After the show, Shirley went on social media . . . and she did NOT apologize.
She said, "I make NO APOLOGIES whatsoever for getting annoyed at beach balls at shows. I joined a band because I HATED THE [EFFING] BEACH.
"I joined a band because I wanted to listen to Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Cure and be dark and beautiful. Continue listening to Spotify and toss your stupid beach balls around like you are 10 years old.
"I love the musical community and I want to respect their artistry. I am so tired of folks taking music for free, and treating us all like circus performers."
There's no response yet from circus performers.
Shirley has since backed off her no apology stance after facing online criticism for those videos of her beach ball rant.
When she hit the stage on Saturday to loud boos and fans bouncing even more beach balls in the crowd, she said, "If a beach ball brings you joy, for that I apologize. If I upset you about your blessed beach balls, I humbly apologize."
Here's UNCENSORED video of Shirley, along with her Threads post. And here's another UNCENSORED video, where she calls it "disrespectful." She really goes hard after that guy.)
