Avenged Sevenfold Singer Defends Sending Freed Israeli Hostages a Personal Message
Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows is defending himself after sending a video message to two freed Israeli hostages who are fans of the band. In the video, Shadows welcomed home Evyatar David and Guy Gilboa-Dalal, saying he was excited they were home and hoped to see them soon. Some people criticized him for the message, but Shadows told "Rolling Stone" it was just one human doing something for another human and wasn't a political statement. He said if people can't agree on supporting someone who's been through hell, it's hard to agree on anything. Shadows also mentioned the band knew two women who were killed in the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. He said Avenged Sevenfold has done things for fans across different cultures and religions, and it's unfair to treat someone as an enemy just for not being on your side.

And that was the day I found out Rod Stewart was not in fact my grandfather,’” he said. Despite the childhood disappointment, the artist joked he never took a DNA test “just in case.” Well it turns out that Stewart himself is in on the joke, because Yungblud says the music icon actually messaged him on Instagram, simply telling him “All right, me wee grandson.”
