Freed Israeli Hostages React To Message Of Support From Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows
Two former Israeli hostages who are huge Avenged Sevenfold fans received an emotional message of support from the band's singer M. Shadows. Evyatar David and Guy Gilboa-Dalal were both taken hostage on October 7th, 2023 while attending the Nova Music Festival in Israel, and were released this week as part of a ceasefire deal. During their two years in captivity, the childhood friends bonded over their love of the band's music. An Avenged Sevenfold Israeli fan group contacted the band about the men's situation, and Shadows sent them a video welcoming them home. In the clip, Shadows said he'd been following their story closely and hoped to see them soon. Gilboa-Dalal watched the video in disbelief from what looked like a hospital room, saying he couldn't believe Shadows made the video. He told his brother that he and David had spent one of their first nights of freedom listening to Avenged Sevenfold songs.

Poppy Takes A Swing At Wham's "Last Christmas"

She teamed up with producer Jordan Fish, a former member of Bring Me the Horizon, to reimagine the classic Christmas song in her own style. The version includes electronic, industrial, and pop-punk elements with big guitars and electronic touches. While they took some creative freedom with the verses, the chorus stays pretty true to the original Wham version. The cover came out just days after Poppy finished her Fall 2025 headlining tour.
