Music: The Surviving Members of Rush Are Doing a Reunion Tour

The Surviving Members of Rush Are Doing a Reunion Tour with a New Drummer

This is why you never say never:  Rush is going out on tour next year, to celebrate, well . . . fifty-something years. That's why they're calling it the Fifty Something Tour.

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson seemed pretty set on never performing as Rush again following the death of their legendary drummer Neil Peart. The three of them last performed in 2015, and Peart died of brain cancer in 2020.

But in a statement, Geddy said, quote, "Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we [effing] miss it."

And while he says Neil can never be replaced . . . well, in order to do this tour, they had to replace him. They gave the gig to Anika Nilles, a German drummer who previously played with Jeff Beck.

At the moment, they only have 12 dates scheduled, kicking off June 7th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles . . . where that last show with Neil took place.

And FYI, Neil's widow and daughter say they're "thrilled" to support the tour.

Rush formed in 1968, but really hit their stride when Neil replaced original drummer John Rutsey in 1974.
