Food: Stretchy Yogurt, Lobster Day, McDonald's Prices, and more...

Oh No, This Could Be the Next Big Thing: "Stretchy Yogurt"

The good thing about TikTok "trends" is they're usually short-lived. But this might have a chance of sticking around, for better or worse. There's a new trend called "stretchy yogurt." It originally became a hit in China, and now has shops in New York City and a few other places.  It's a little like the customized frozen yogurt trend from the early 2000s . . . just with "elasticity and a gummy texture."

Here's how it works: You choose a stretchy yogurt. It has the consistency of melted chocolate. They're apparently a little guarded about WHAT creates this texture. The flavors include "five vegetable," "five grain," "mango," and "coconut." You get to choose several different fruits . . . along with one "wet topping" and a "dry topping." It's usually served in a big cup with a spoon. (Today)

More Radioactive Shrimp Is Recalled

There's yet another warning about radioactive shrimp. Last month it was Walmart. This time it's linked to packages sold at Kroger. AquaStar Corporation is recalling its Kroger Raw E-Z Peel Shrimp, Kroger Mercado Cooked Shrimp, and AquaStar Shrimp Skewers. The FDA says the shrimp, sold in more than 30 states, may be contaminated with a radioactive material that could increase cancer risk with long-term exposure. No illnesses have been reported.

How To Get Some Of The Poppi Settlement Cash

Thursday is the deadline for getting in on an eight-point-nine-million dollar settlement over misleading claims from the prebiotic drink Poppi. The drink's former owner, VNGR Beverage, marketed Poppi as good for gut health, a claim the suit says is not backed by science. Customers who bought the beverage between January 2020 and July 2025 can get part of the settlement. The problem may be that proof of purchase is required for some reimbursement, without that the cap is $16. Claim forms can be submitted online or mailed in.
