I think we all know what this screwed-up, fiercely divided nation needs: Sexy, oiled up men and women in swimwear, jogging along the beach in slow motion.
Enter Fox . . . which announced yesterday that a new version of "Baywatch" will premiere during the 2026 - 2027 season.
They're promising to, quote, "bring the California dream to a whole new generation of fans with fresh stories, rising stars and all the spectacle that make the 'Baywatch' franchise a global sensation."
The show will feature, quote, "all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original . . . now with an entirely new cast."
The original "Baywatch" premiered on NBC in 1989, and ran one season there. Then it moved to syndication for 10 more. David Hasselhoff also starred in a two-season spinoff called "Baywatch Nights" from 1995 to 1997.
