U2 To Receive Prestigious 2025 Woody Guthrie Prize
U2 will receive the prestigious 2025 Woody Guthrie Prize, an annual award given to acts that embody the folk singer's social consciousness and musical legacy. The award recognizes artists who use music to confront injustice and inspire action, which organizers say perfectly describes U2's mission. Bono and The Edge will accept the honor on October 21st at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, marking their first time at the venue since U2 played there in 1981. The award goes to all four band members for continuing the tradition of using music as a force for social change. Previous winners include Pete Seeger, Mavis Staples, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Chuck D, Tom Morello, and Pussy Riot. Limited experience packages for the ceremony will be available for sponsors and Woody Guthrie Center members.
