Drummer Matt Cameron Says His Rock Hall Induction with Soundgarden Is More Meaningful than with Pearl Jam
Drummer Matt Cameron will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for a SECOND time on November 8th with Soundgarden. He was previously part of Pearl Jam's induction in 2017.
Matt says this time feels "a little more meaningful." Quote, "I helped build Soundgarden from the ground up, and I helped create the sound, I think, a little bit more than I did with Pearl Jam . . .
"Which was definitely more of an established thing that I came into."
Matt is 63 now. He joined Soundgarden in 1986 and played on each of their six studio albums. Matt joined Pearl Jam in 1998, and first appeared on their sixth album, "Binaural", in 2000.
He actually just left Pearl Jam in July. He was having issues with their three- hour shows and constant touring.
Quote, "That's definitely an art form unto itself, to be able to do those types of shows. I'm at a point now where I want to do a face-melting 70-minute set, and that's kind of what I'm focusing on right now."
Matt also gave an update on Soundgarden's eight-track final album, using posthumous vocals from Chris Cornell. He says it's over halfway done, and guitarist Kim Thayil is perfecting his parts on the recording.

Why Did Machine Gun Kelly Speak at Harvard Business School?
When parents send their kids off to Harvard, they assume . . . no, they fully EXPECT . . . that they're getting one of the best educations money can buy.
That's probably MOSTLY true. But I don't know if it's true for the Harvard Business School kids who had to endure a lecture from Machine Gun Kelly.
Yes, MGK actually spoke to a class this week. There's no word what subject he schooled the kids in, but at least he looked relatively respectable. He even wore a tie.
He shared some pics and videos on Instagram, with the caption, "Harvard has a new professor."
