Alright "Star Wars" fans, get ready to drain your savings account for LEGO. They just announced their most expensive set ever for $1,000, and no it's not a Millennium Falcon.
Â
Â
It's the Death Star, and it's part of the Ultimate Collector Series. It has 9,023 pieces and comes with 38 characters, including three versions of Luke Skywalker and two versions of Han Solo.
Â
Â
It's a cross-section of the Death Star, so it's disc-shaped, rather than a sphere. There are different rooms, like the trash compactor, Emperor Palpatine's throne, Princess Leia's holding cell, and the Imperial shuttle hangar.
Â
Â
If you're going through the trouble of building it, you'll want to make sure you have a spot to display it. It's 28 inches tall, 32 inches wide, and 11 inches deep.
Â
Â
The Death Star comes out October 4th, but you can sign up for early access at Lego.com.
Speaking of expensive "Star Wars" items, Darth Vader's lightsaber from both "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" sold for $3,654,000 at auction yesterday.
Â
Â
That's the most a "Star Wars" item has ever been auctioned off for.
