Millennial Parents Are Going Nuts for This "Tin Can" Phone for Kids

The new iPhone debuts next Tuesday. But here's the only phone your KID cares about . . .

A new kid-friendly WiFi phone called Tin Can is all over social media. The target market is nostalgic parents who don't want their kid to have a REAL phone yet.

No texting or apps. It's like an old-school landline with a cord, and works over WiFi. Only approved people can call it. And you control outgoing calls too.

The name is a nod to those old tin can phones you'd make with string. The handset is even curved like a can, with little ridges on it.

It's basically for 10-year-olds who want a phone, but aren't old enough yet. And if you grew up in the '80s or '90s, it's a full nostalgia grab.

Pre-sales actually started a few months ago, with the first shipments going out next month. They're on sale now for $75, and new orders ship in early December. So, just in time for Christmas.

The lame part is it's not a one-and-done $75. There IS a free plan that lets you call other Tin Cans. But if your kid wants to call Grandma's cell . . . or dial 911 . . . you need the "Party Line Plan" for $10 a month.
