The Kraft Heinz marriage in 2015 created one of the world's largest food conglomerates . . . but after a brief honeymoon period, things became rocky. And now, they're finally headed for divorce.
The breakup was officially announced yesterday . . . but the divorce won't be finalized until sometime next year.
The two separated companies with split custody of hot dogs and ketchup . . . meaning they'll no longer live under the same roof (or know who's picking them up from soccer practice) . . . but both will still be available in stores.
It's unclear if the parents will be going back to their pre-marriage names. All we know is that one company will be a North American grocery business, with brands like Oscar Mayer, Maxwell House, Capri Sun, Kraft Singles, and Lunchables.
And the other will focus globally on sauces and "taste elevation" with brands like Heinz ketchup, Philadelphia cream cheese, and Kraft Mac & Cheese.
