Food News: Costco’s Chicken Pot Pie Is Back In Stores

Costco’s Chicken Pot Pie Is Back In Stores

Costco has brought back their signature Chicken Pot Pie to the delight of fans across the U.S. It was spotted by Instagrammer @costcohotfinds who posted a video of the item on shelves along with a cooking demo for how to prepare the pie properly.

The Chicken Pot Pie sells for about $4 a pound, or $22, and can feed multiple guests or cut into portions to freeze and eat later. Some of the comments from fans included “You know it’s almost fall when Costco brings back the Chicken Pot Pie” and “ I swear this is the best pot pie, it never gets old.”

You can eat the pie as is, or even customize it with an egg wash layer and a layer of foil on top to the crust won’t burn. Other posters suggest making gravy and adding to it to provide some extra moisture. The Costco Chicken Pot Pie is available now at participating Costco locations

*LIST* The Worst-Rated Fast Food Menu Items In The U.S.

Whether you pull into a drive-thru on a daily basis, or haven’t had a burger and fries in years, you probably still have your own fast food favorites. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to save you from order disappointment, a new study ranks menu items from popular fast food chains across the country.

  • Restaurant Furniture Plus analyzed Google Reviews to find the lowest-rated menu items from the 16 most popular U.S. chains.
  • They looked at the 100 most-reviewed locations for each chain, for a total of 16-hundred restaurants nationwide.
  • So, which fast food item is the worst, according to food reviews? McDonald’s Chicken Tenders, which earn a score of just 2.03 out of five.
  • Reviewers call the tenders out for being “burnt to a crisp,” “chewy” and “dry,” and some even claim to have gotten food poisoning from eating them.
  • Chipotle’s Rice Bowl is the second-worst item, based on ratings, with many people slamming them for stingy portion sizes and for having to “search for the protein in each bowl.”
  • On the flip side, Chick-fil-A’s salads are the top-rated item, followed by Chick-fil-A sandwiches, Wendy’s salads and Chick-fil-A nuggets.

A Bizarre 50-Year-Old Recipe Is Trending: "Pancake Soup"

Don't hate me for saying this, but FALL is just around the corner. Don't hate me for this either: Which means it's almost PANCAKE SOUP season.

A recipe from 1975 is going viral online . . . a recipe for "Pancake Soup."

When you hear "pancake soup," you might think of those TikTok-style "hacks," where a traditional dish is deconstructed . . . like maybe pancakes in a "broth" of syrup, milk, fruit, and sugar. But this was 50 years ago, so it's not a stunt.

For the recipe, you basically make pancakes on a griddle in bacon grease, and then cut them into quarter-inch strips. Then you put the strips into an ACTUAL broth, made with bouillon cubes and water. Heat and serve.

At first this seems gross . . . but then, it starts to sound interesting.

A post with an image of the recipe has gone viral, and some commenters have pointed out that it's a German dish called "Flädlesuppe." There are a lot of ways to do it . . . some more appealing than others.

Either way, the internet has thoughts. Here are some of the comments:

"I'm guessing this was a way to repurpose yesterday's stale breakfast, only because it seems a little silly to make fresh pancakes for this."

"Wow! That's different and creative."

"Beef stock with pancake pieces floating in it doesn't sound particularly joyous."

"I would rather just eat pancakes and have my broth on the side."

"Great way to feed a family on next to nothing . . . this has depression-era written all over it."

"If you changed the bouillon broth to a black tea (with a dash of milk and honey), this would actually make an awesome breakfast!"

"I'd totally try this! The texture sounds similar to fresh pasta noodles in soup."

"Hard pass . . . the soggy texture would get to me."
