The BBC did a story on a woman with ALS named Sarah Ezekiel, who lost the ability to speak at age 34. But thanks to A.I., she just got her voice back 25 years later.
She'd been using a computer-generated voice that was really robotic. But a company called Smartbox was able to pull audio from an old VHS tape and clone her voice. The old audio was poor quality and just eight seconds long. But thanks to the newest tech, it was enough.
