ChatGPT just got a big upgrade with ChatGPT got a big upgrade yesterday with "GPT-5" launching online.

 

 

You can access it even with the free version. You're still just limited to how much you can use it before it switches to the not-quite-as-good "mini" model.

 

 

It's supposed to be faster, smarter, and better at everything from writing and math, to coding and giving health advice. They claim it also "hallucinates" less. That's when it invents information instead of admitting it doesn't know.

 

OpenAI's Sam Altman claimed the new version is like having access to a "legitimate PhD-level expert in ANYTHING." Experts say some of the other A.I.'s, like Google's Gemini, are still better at certain tasks though.

 

 

You can customize the look of GPT-5 with different color schemes . . . link it to your Google Calendar or Gmail account . . . and choose from four new "personalities" it can have: Robot, Cynic, Listener, or Nerd.

It's the first major overhaul since GPT-4 came out in March 2023. That version landed just four months after their initial 3.5 release.

 

 

A writer for "The Atlantic" talked about how much A.I. has already changed the world in just a few years. Almost every Fortune 500 company uses it now, and OpenAI revealed that 700 million people now use ChatGPT every week.
