John Cena opened up about getting a hair transplant while talking to “People,” saying it "completely changed the course of my life." After fans pointed out his bald spot with signs like “The bald John Cena,” he decided to explore his options. “They pushed me into going to see what my options were,” he said, leading to a November procedure along with red-light therapy and other hair treatments.
Cena admitted he wished he’d done it sooner, adding, “I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago.” He now feels more confident, even saying a new hairstyle gives him more range as an actor.
“A different hairstyle can identify a part that can get me more work,” he explained. Cena wants to help normalize the experience, noting, “Seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness.” He’s now proud of the decision: “If somebody’s going to sweat me for that, I don’t think there’s any shame in that.”
