Foo Fighters Enlists Drummer Ilan Rubin to Replace Josh Freese
Just months after firing Josh Freese from the band, Foo Fighters have enlisted drummer Ilan Rubin to take his spot.
A source confirmed to that Rubin, who has been a touring member of Nine Inch Nails since 2009, will step in for Freese as the band’s drummer, as first reported by the Hollywood Reporter. It’s unclear if his role will be permanent or just for touring, as the band has shows starting in October in Jakarta, Singapore and Mexico City.
In an unusual twist, Freese will step in for Rubin as the touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails’ upcoming “Peel It Back” tour, Variety has confirmed. Freese became a permanent drummer for Nine Inch Nails in 2005 and remained with the group until 2008. Rubin had initially been slated to be part of the “Peel It Back” tour, but reportedly informed frontman Trent Reznor that he had accepted a job with another band, per THR. Nine Inch Nails appeared to confirm Freese’s appointment with a post on X.

As one fan put it . . . quote, "It totally goes against what the Grateful Dead was all about. Jerry is rolling over in his grave."
Another said, quote, "It's not necessarily fair for a culture and crowd that's not supposed to be known for possessions or money."

Paramore's Hayley Williams Posts Double Album's Worth Of Music On Her Website
You may have missed an album release. Paramore singer Hayley Williams surprised fans by releasing 17 new songs on her website, but you need a special code to hear them. The songs were posted on hayleywilliams.net and could only be accessed with a 16-digit password. Fans got the codes through emails from Williams' hair dye company Good Dye Young after buying products or signing up for updates. The website was designed to look like an old 2000s Windows computer desktop, with song files scattered around with names like "NegativeSelfTalk.mp3" and "DreamGirlInShibuya.mp3." Williams took the songs down after about 24 hours with a message saying, "Thank you for listening." This appears to be her third solo album, separate from her work with Paramore. The surprise release got fans excited, with many calling her their "emo mother."
