Coldplay Kiss-Cam CEO Andy Byron Resigns

Coldplay Kiss-Cam CEO Andy Byron Resigns

Andy Byron has resigned as CEO of Astronomer after a viral kiss cam video from a Coldplay concert showed him embracing HR Chief Kristin Cabot, sparking allegations of an affair going on. The company issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to accountability and confirmed that cofounder Pete DeJoy will serve as interim CEO during the search for a permanent replacement.

“Our leaders are expected to set the standard,” Astronomer said, noting Byron’s actions “did not meet” those expectations. The viral video, taken at Gillette Stadium, featured the married Byron trying to duck out of the frame with the married Cabot once they realized they were on camera.

Since then the internet has run wild making memes of the moment, including influencers showing fun ways to play off getting caught on camera, people making games where you have to find the alleged affair in a crowd, and even baseball teams reenacting the moment with their mascots.

The Savannah Bananas also got involved, featuring mascots Princess Potassia and Pharty the Party Animal in a bashful embrace.

Byron has since resigned as CEO of Astronomer, with cofounder Pete DeJoy serving as interim CEO during the search for a permanent replacement.
