Matt Cameron Has Left Pearl Jam
Drummer Matt Cameron has left Pearl Jam after 27 years behind the kit. It sounds like a friendly parting, but there's no word on why he quit.
Matt said, quote, "Much love and respect for Jeff, Ed, Mike and Stone for inviting me into the band in 1998 and for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime, one filled with friendships, artistry, challenges and laughter."
And the band issued a statement saying, quote, "[Matt] has propelled the last 27 years of Pearl Jam live shows and studio recordings. It was a deeply important chapter for our group and we wish him well always.
"He will be deeply missed and is forever our friend in art and music. We love you Matt."
Matt will be a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer by the end of the year. He went in with Pearl Jam in 2017, and he'll be inducted as a member of Soundgarden in November.
