Chevelle Announces New Album

Chevelle has announced their new album, “Bright as Blasphemy,” is set for release on August 15th. It’s their first new music in four years, following their 2021 album “NIRATIAS.” The lead single, “Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1),” is already No. 9 at rock radio and climbing. They also shared a lyric video for a new single, “Jim Jones (Cowards, Pt. 2),” which explores themes of endless challenges. The band says the album is about life’s highs and lows, leaving it up to listeners to find meaning. Chevelle will tour the U.S. starting August 7th with Asking Alexandria and Dead Poet Society, hitting cities like Chicago, New York, and Las Vegas, and ending October 2 in Washington.

Metallica's "Black Album" Achieves Double Diamond Status

Another milestone for Metallica. The band’s fifth album, often called “The Black Album,” was certified double diamond by the RIAA for selling over 20 million copies. Released in 1991, it hit number one in 10 countries, with hits like “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters.” Their 1986 album, “Master of Puppets,” got eight-times platinum status for passing eight million sales. It’s seen as a key metal album, with songs like “Battery” and the title track, and was the last with bassist Cliff Burton, who died that year. The album’s cultural impact earned it a spot in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.

Rise Against Reveals First Album In Four Years

Chicago punk band Rise Against announced their new album “Ricochet,” set for release on August 15th via Loma Vista Recordings. It’s their first album in four years since “Nowhere Generation” in 2021. The band dropped a new single, “I Want It All,” with a music video, following earlier singles “Nod” and “Prizefighter.” Produced by Catherine Marks and mixed by Alan Moulder, Ricochet tackles themes of connection and the impact of our actions, like a chain reaction. The band, led by Tim McIlrath, is touring Europe in June, hitting festivals like Vans Warped Tour, and playing U.S. arenas later. Fans can pre-order the album, including a limited orange vinyl, on the band’s website.

Tobias Forge Performs "Bohemian Rhapsody" In Front Of Brian May And Roger Taylor

Now this is performing under pressure. Ghost’s lead singer Papa V Perpetua performed Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” at the Polar Music Prize ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden on Tuesday with Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor in the audience. Joined by Opeth guitarist Fredrik Åkesson and the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir, Forge sang in front of Swedish King Carl Gustaf and Queen collaborator Adam Lambert. Lambert also performed “Who Wants to Live Forever” and “Another One Bites the Dust,” while Erik Gronwall sang “Stone Cold Crazy.” The event honored Queen, jazz legend Herbie Hancock, and conductor Barbara Hannigan.
