Someone asked 2,000 people what the "toughest" job in America is. Half the folks polled were trade workers, like plumbers and electricians, so those were the types of jobs the poll had in mind. But teacher still made the Top 20.
The Top 10 all involve at least two of these four things: They're physically demanding . . . have long hours . . . involve high-stakes decisions . . . or there's an element of danger.
