Music News: Halestorm Says New Single Coming, Shirley Manson, Benson Boone!

Halestorm Says New Single Coming Next Week

Ready for some new Halestorm music? You’d better be; the band has announced that their new single “Darkness Always Wins” is set to hit your ears next week. The track will be on their sixth studio album that’s scheduled to be released later this year, and the band says they did things a bit differently for this album. Lzzy Hale is talking about the unconventional recording process, noting that the band wrote and recorded songs simultaneously without traditional demos. She says the more “raw” method of recording gave them a more spontaneous and authentic creation process, resulting in some of the heaviest and most emotionally resonant tracks the band has produced. “Darkness Always Wins” will go live next Tuesday.

Shirley Manson Still Rocks "Harder Than Most," No Matter How She Looks

Britain's "Daily Mail" tabloid recently posted a headline saying that the members of the band Garbage look "unrecognizable" in new photos. And Shirley Manson took that personally.

In an Instagram post, she said that since all the guys in the band look "exactly the same as they have" for the past 30 years, she assumes the headline was directed at her.

She said, quote, "Look, I'm nearly sixty years old. Of course I'm not going to look anything like my late twenties self?!? . . . This kind of language is weaponized to put a woman like me in my place."

But she added, quote, "No matter what I look like, no matter what they say about me, I will always . . . and forever . . . rock HARDER than most."

Shirley is 58 years old.

Benson Boone made a TikTok calling out the Coachella crowd for not giving Brian May more love.

Axl Rose Collects 50% of Guns N' Roses' Income, According to a Former Manager

This may or may not surprise you:  Axl Rose allegedly collects FIFTY PERCENT of Guns N' Roses income. At least according to former manager Alan Niven.

Alan revealed this on a recent episode of a GNR-themed podcast called "Appetite For Distortion". Quote, "It's a control thing with Axl . . . 50%, okay?

That, to me, is anathema. He is not Guns N' Roses.

"They were five individuals. It was a chemistry. It was a moment. But Axl wants to be in control of everything all the time. And look what that gets you. A boring solo record and a [crappy] thing of punk covers. And that's it."

He's likely referring to 1993's covers album, "The Spaghetti Incident?", and 2008's "Chinese Democracy" (Ya know, the one WITHOUT Slash, Duff McKagan, and Izzy Stradlin).
