Billie Joe Armstrong Thinks Perry Farrell Is an "A-Hole"?
It's crazy to think there was ever a time in Green Day history that someone would think they were a BOY BAND.
They almost weren't the opening band on the second-half of the Lollapalooza tour in 1994 because of Perry Farrell. The stage manager at the time said Perry never pushed back or vetoed a band, EXCEPT for Green Day.
Quote, "He was like, 'They're a boy band. I don't want to book a boy band.'" He obviously changed his mind, but it took the stage manager to convince him.
Billie Joe Armstrong says Perry was, quote, "[an effing A-hole], straight up . . .
"For us it was really disappointing, because Perry was someone that we really respected. I think that made us want to play [Lollapalooza] even more, actually, because we wanted to prove that he had his head very far up his own [butt]."
Green Day even dedicated the song "Chump" to Perry during an onstage performance. Billie Joe added, quote, "He had minions that would come up and say, 'Perry Farrell's really angry that you dedicated 'Chump' to him.
"And I'm like, 'Tell him to stop acting like one.'"
Billie Joe says he and Perry briefly shook hands later that summer at Woodstock '94, but it's not clear if they ever became friends.

A New Jersey Mayor Accused Jon Bon Jovi of Causing an Influx of Homeless People in His Town
Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea opened a temporary location for their JBJ Soul Kitchen at the Ocean County Library in Toms River, New Jersey, and the mayor is NOT happy about it.
If you haven't heard of these Soul Kitchens, they provide meals at lower prices . . . and those in need can put in some hours in exchange for their food. The kitchens also help people find jobs, housing, mental health support, and more.
But Mayor Daniel Rodrick calls it a "day shelter and soup kitchen," and says it's drawing homeless people to the area.
He adds, quote, "Mothers shouldn't have to walk through large gangs of intoxicated and mentally ill men with their children to borrow a book."
In response, Jon and Dorothea said, quote, "We invite anyone to . . . the JBJ Soul Kitchen Pop Up to see what we are doing to end homelessness and hunger in our community."
