Morgan Wallen's "SNL" Fallout Continues: Did Lorne Snub Him?

The internet is still talking about why Morgan Wallen left the stage at the end of the most recent "SNL" episode. Was it an honest mistake, or was he mad?

"The New York Times" and "Today" both did write-ups on why it's such a hot topic: Basically, he's a big star . . . there was the COVID protocol thing last time . . . and yes, the musical guest usually hangs out up there. It also looked more abrupt because he walked off the FRONT of the stage, right past the camera.

Here are a few quick updates on what people are saying . . .

1.  It seems like the cast isn't sure what happened either. Longtime cast member Kenan Thompson told "Entertainment Weekly" he definitely noticed and thought, "I wonder what that's about."

Quote, "I don't know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way."

He joked that his first thought was Morgan "had to go to the potty or something." The official story is Morgan just did what he'd done in the dress rehearsal.

Kenan also noted Morgan isn't the first person to do it.  Prince also left the stage once, but they weren't surprised because he was notoriously "standoffish."

2.  Did Morgan get snubbed by Lorne Michaels?

Someone who claimed they were at the taping said that before it happened, Lorne walked up and hugged host Mikey Madison, but ignored Morgan.

Quote, "When Morgan came toward the [stage], Lorne turned his back and walked away." They claimed it was "obvious and purposeful." But it's a random internet comment, so it could be nonsense.

3.  One of the writers trolled Morgan on Instagram.

Morgan posted a shot of his jet while leaving New York, with the caption "Get me to God's country." So a writer named Josh Patten used the same caption under a shot of a Krispy Kreme truck.

4.  Is Morgan welcome back? Regardless of why it happened, it doesn't sound like Morgan is banned or anything. TMZ talked to "sources close to NBC" who said "there's no bad blood on their end," and they'd love to have him back.
