LeBron James Hints That NBA May Have Rigged 2003 Lottery

While talking with Pat McAfeeLeBron James dropped a conspiracy theory that likely caused NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s head to rotate a full 360-degrees. Going into the 2003 NBA Draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Denver Nuggets both had a 22.5% chance of getting the first pick. With James being the no-doubt number-one pick, the better story would obviously be James going to his hometown team. Talking about that, James said, “Listen man, during the lottery…Cleveland got the #1 pick. I don’t think that was…what a coincidence, huh? Let’s keep LeBron home.” With that, James added, “You know what? Patrick Ewing to the Knicks, you know, Derrick Rose to the Bulls. Like, I understand the assignment, guys…”
