Marvel announced the cast of the next "Avengers" movie, "Avengers: Doomsday". And it includes some of the old-school X-Men, who can be part of the MCU now because Disney bought 21st Century Fox.
We're getting Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James Marsden (Cyclops), and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), and Kelsey Grammer (Beast).
We're also getting Channing Tatum's Gambit, who made his debut in "Deadpool and Wolverine". Sadly, neither Deadpool nor Wolverine were in the cast announcement . . . but you never know.
The new Fantastic Four will also join in on the fun, after making their debut in "Fantastic Four: First Steps", which comes out this July.
Returning characters will include Thor, Loki, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, Anthony Mackie's Captain America, the Winter Soldier, Shuri and M'Baku from "Black Panther", and more.
And of course, Robert Downey Jr. is returning, but as the VILLAIN, Dr. Doom.
Characters NOT on the list include Chris Evans . . . the former Captain America . . . Mark Ruffalo's Hulk . . . Dr. Strange, a.k.a. Benedict Cumberbatch . . . and Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland.
Elizabeth Olsen was also missing from the announcement, but Scarlet Witch presumably DIED at the end of the last "Dr. Strange" flick, so that might be it for her.
The cast was announced in an excruciating FIVE-AND-A-HALF-HOUR video that just shows the actors' names on the backs of chairs.
"Avengers: Doomsday" comes out in May of 2026.
