Spotify is doing a crackdown on porn on its video platform.
Adult content has been popping to the top of feeds, with Bloomberg reporting it happening even for basic searches for “managerial advice.” Spotify denies that their new creator monetization program is contributing money to the porn content and says that sexually explicit material is not allowed on their platform…though it’s still shown up “in the top 15 shows of normally innocent categories” of television and film. Spotify has taken steps to block the source accounts of the material, but…as in other areas of the cyber world…porn always seems to find a workaround.
