Is This the Mount Rushmore of Grunge?

If you had to create the "Mount Rushmore" of grunge music, which bands would you choose?  Vice.com shared theirs, along with who they think represents each president.

Here they are:

1.  Nirvana is George Washington: "Washington was America's first President [and] the face of the country, just as Kurt Cobain and Nirvana remain the face of grunge."

2.  Soundgarden is Thomas Jefferson: "Their strong yet melodic creations helped forge a path from the '80s into the '90s.

"Just as Jefferson is as essential as Washington when telling the American story, Soundgarden is just as essential as Nirvana."

3.  Pearl Jam is Theodore Roosevelt: "Teddy had causes that he took up for, namely for the preservation of nature.

"Similarly, Pearl Jam has always had things they've been outspoken on . . . [like] gun violence, environment, or the price of concert tickets."

4.  Alice in Chains is Abraham Lincoln: As famous for good times as he is for bad, Lincoln led the country through the Civil War . . .

"Alice in Chains were always in the middle of something harsh, [like] Layne Staley's drug issues and death."

Someone Just Bought a Piece of George Harrison's Toast from the '60s

Pretty much ANYTHING connected to the Beatles can sell at an auction. Even a piece of George Harrison's TOAST from the '60s.

A passionate Beatles collector paid an undisclosed amount for it. But back in 1991, it sold for $94,800. At the time, though, it also included a love letter from John Lennon to his ex-wife Cynthia.

Here's the story behind the toast: A 15-year-old fan named Sue Houghton was visiting George's family home. She saw he left the crust of the toast on his plate, so she put it in her pocket.

Sue added it to her scrapbook with the caption, "Piece of George's breakfast. 2-8-63."

George actually commented about the authenticity of the toast back in 1992. He joked, quote, "I ate all my toast! I never left any!"

Shaboozey Has the Longest #1 Streak for a Solo Country Artist Since 1958

Shaboozey and "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" are breaking even more records. The song has now spent 35 weeks at #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart.

This breaks a tie with Sam Hunt's song, "Body Like a Backroad" that was #1 for 34 weeks back in 2017. Shaboozey now has the longest #1 streak for a solo artist since the chart began in 1958.

But he has a long way to go if he wants the all-time record. That was set by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line for their song "Meant to Be" that was #1 for 50 weeks in 2017 and 2018.
