In many parts of the country, the snow and freezing temperatures remind us that it’s still winter, but spring break is right around the corner. It kicks off in March and ends mid-April and it seems some folks can’t wait to escape the cold and relax somewhere warm. And AAA is revealing where everyone is going this year.
- The Sunshine State dominates the list of U.S. destinations with four Florida cities in the top 10.
- On the international list, eight of the top 10 destinations are in Europe.
- AAA reports that flying to spring break destinations is more expensive this year, up 7% from 2024.
- Hotels here in the U.S. also cost more this year, with stays up 8%. But those leaving the country are in luck, as international hotels are 4% cheaper this spring break season.
- Cruising is at an all-time high and AAA projects 19-million Americans will be taking an ocean cruise this year.
- The most popular spring break cruises in the U.S. all leave from Florida ports - Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral and Miami, which are the three busiest cruise ports worldwide.
