Saints Hire Eagles OC Kellen Moore As New Head Coach
The New Orleans Saints have officially hired Kellen Moore as their new head coach, making him the youngest head coach in the NFL at 35. Moore, who was the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, recently contributed to their Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
He replaces Dennis Allen, who was dismissed after a 2-7 start in the 2024 season. Saints owner Gayle Benson expressed confidence in Moore's ability to restore a winning culture. Moore's coaching career includes roles with the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Eagles. He is expected to bring in former Chargers head coach Brandon Staley as his defensive coordinator.
The Saints face challenges, including being over the salary cap and key roster decisions. General Manager Mickey Loomis praised Moore's leadership and vision for the team.
