A Bengals Player Was Fined for Jumping Into a Salvation Army Kettle

This is one of the stranger fines that the NFL has doled out:

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown has to pay the league $5,481 for jumping into a giant Salvation Army kettle during a touchdown celebration.

It happened during the Bengals' "Monday Night Football" game against the Cowboys on December 9th.

The fine is for unsportsmanlike conduct . . . because players aren't allowed to use PROPS during touchdown celebrations.

What's funny is, jumping into the kettle is kind of a tradition in Dallas, and not everyone is punished for it. For instance, Ezekiel Elliot wasn't fined for doing it in 2016, then he WAS fined in 2018.

During last year's Thanksgiving Day game, multiple Cowboys did it, and weren't fined.

Chase actually had no idea he could get in trouble for this. And he was shocked when reporters let him know during a postgame interview.

Asked if it would be worth it, he said, quote, "No, definitely not! I don't make enough money for that [crap]!"
