Sorry, Jay-Z . . . Yacht Rock Superstar Christopher Cross Sold Drugs to Get By Long Before You Did

Apologies to Jay-Z . . . and practically ever other rapper for that matter . . . but Yacht Rock superstar Christopher Cross was hustlin' back when you were still holding your momma's hand to cross the street.

In the new film "Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary", Cross admits he sold WEED to earn money to make his smash 1979 self-titled debut album.

Quote, "I financed my original songs by selling weed. I had a very successful weed business, and I bought a tape machine and some consoles and stuff and invested in a studio in Austin."

Yes, the album that produced such unoffensive jams as "Sailing""Ride Like the Wind" and "Never Be the Same" was financed with DRUG MONEY.

Oh, and one more thing: Cross wrote the lyrics to "Ride Like the Wind" while he was ON ACID.

"Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary" hits HBO on the 29th of this month.

Jason Bonham Says He Won't Be Returning To "Best Of All Worlds" Tour

Jason Bonham has been absent from the last few live shows of Sammy Hagar’s “The Best Of All Worlds” tour, and now we know why. On social media, Jason told fans “As many of you know, my mother has been facing some serious health issues, and it’s been an incredibly challenging time for our family.” There was some good news, as he said his mother is on the mend and has been discharged from the hospital. When asked about rejoining Hagar’s tour, Bonham said, “Sammy has decided to carry on with Kenny (Aronoff), so Sadly no.” He is headed back out on the road, though; Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening is back on tour starting tomorrow.
