Mattel just made a VERY wicked mistake.
Several toy-buyers discovered that Mattel printed the URL for a NAUGHTY website on the boxes of their dolls for the movie "Wicked" . . . specifically the ones for Glinda (Ariana Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo).
It was clearly an accident, although a pretty big one. The website on the dolls' boxes is Wicked.com, which is a pornographic website . . . instead of the correct one, WickedMovie.com.
The URL is in small print on the back of the boxes . . . next to the copyright information and the barcode.
One person said, "Mattel: I was so excited after I bought your toy and when I went to Wicked.com to see more 'Wicked' products, I was met with hardcore pornography!! This is unacceptable!!! I expect reimbursement!"
Another commenter said, "Why would they do that, knowing that it's mostly kids buying these dolls?"
Others joked about how someone would be fired for this . . . or that "they're COOKED" as the kids say these days.
Mattel admitted to the "misprint" . . . said they "deeply regret the error" . . . and advised parents to "discard the packaging" or scratch-out the link. They are also "taking immediate action" to replace the old-stock with correct packaging.
The movie "Wicked" opens on November 22nd. For more information, go to WickedMOVIE.com.
