Matthew Sweet Suffers Stroke While On Tour
It was revealed yesterday that Matthew Sweet suffered a stroke while he was on tour with Hanson. The stroke happened in Toronto on October 12th, and his agent, Catherine Lyons, posted a GoFundMe yesterday afternoon with a stated goal of raising $250,000 for Sweet’s medical care. As of 1 am, it had already passed $100,000 from close to 2,000 donations, including $1,500 from Judd Apatow and $1,000 each from Jon Cryer, Peter Buck, and Andrew Kronfeld, the Executive Vice President of Marketing for Universal Music Group. According to his manager, Sweet is back home in Nebraska recovering.
