Did you know that we almost got a "Brady Bunch" revival a few years ago, featuring all six of the original kids?
Remember back in 2019 when HGTV did that show "A Very Brady Renovation", where they fixed up the original "Brady Bunch" house?
Well, it was such a success that CBS was interested in a revival. They worked on it for a year, and all the original siblings had a hand in recreating their characters. But then Cindy's politics got in the way.
Susan Olsen, who played the youngest Brady kid, is a libertarian and a Trump supporter in real life, so she wanted her character to be that way on the show.
She wanted to model it on the "Roseanne" revival, featuring, quote, "a family with completely different political opinions, and in the end they all love and respect each other."
Unfortunately, CBS discovered that Cindy got fired from a radio gig in 2016 for saying some things that were perceived as homophobic.
They asked her to take a course on political correctness, which she did, but they came up with 50 pages worth of other stuff on her that they found objectionable, so the whole thing ended up being scrapped.
Susan says, quote, "I'm like, 'Wow. Wow. I've been canceled.' A role that I've played for over 50 years, I can't play it now, because I'm too dangerous."
And by the way, Susan says she stands by everything she said that caused CBS to "cancel" her.
