I'd like to think that NO ONE is interested in buying a Ku Klux Klan-themed candle. But even if they are, they shouldn't expect to be able to find one at a normal store in the mall.
Bath & Body Works had a new, three-wick candle called "Snowed In," and the artwork featured a white paper snowflake in front of a festive, red background.
But some people thought each edge of the snowflake looked a little like a KKK hood. The sides were pointed, and had small holes cut into them, resembling eye-holes.
It's one of those things where most people wouldn't have immediately seen it . . . but once someone points it out, you can't UN-SEE it. Someone DID mention it on social media . . . it went viral . . . and the company yanked the candle.
They said, "We are committed to listening to our teams and customers and committed to fixing any mistakes we make . . . even those that are unintentional like this one. We apologize to anyone we've offended and are swiftly working to have this item removed and [are] evaluating our process [going] forward."
