Texas Native Shelley Duvall Has Passed Away

Legendary actress Shelley Duvall passed away at her home in Texas yesterday due to complications from diabetes. She was 75.

Shelley was born on July 7, 1949, in Fort Worth and grew up around Houston. She graduated from Waltrip High School in 1967

Shelley was best known for co-starring in the CLASSIC horror movie "The Shining". She played Jack Nicholson's wife, Wendy Torrance.

She also played Olive Oyl in the 1980 "Popeye" movie . . . and had roles in several Robert Altman movies, including "3 Women""Nashville""Thieves Like Us", and "Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson".

Her other credits include the movie "Time Bandits"Tim Burton's short film "Frankenweenie", and the comedy "Roxanne" . . . as well as the shows "Faerie Tale Theatre" and "Shelley Duvall's Bedtime Stories".

Shelley took a hiatus from acting and public life for most of the past two decades . . . and dealt with some health issues during that time . . . but she did return to acting to do a horror thriller called "The Forest Hills" just last year.

The last photo of Shelley was taken just FOUR DAYS AGO, when a friend and "super-fan" named Sarah visited her to celebrate her 75th birthday.

In the caption, she said, "Shelley was having difficulties with her health over the past few months. I'll always be grateful for the memories I created with her, and that I was able to give her comfort and companionship."

Sarah has been supporting Shelley for a while, and she even runs a Shelley-focused social media feed.
