A Customer Attacked a Server at Waffle House After She Took His Cigar
Good news for Waffle House servers: They're getting a raise to $3.00 per hour! That's before tips. The minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13 as long as they're able to make at least $7.25 an hour with tips. And naturally, Waffle House is raising prices to do this.
And for $3.00 an hour they get to put up with this: Police in South Carolina are looking for a customer who showed up to a Waffle House in Myrtle Beach earlier this month . . . drunk.
The man was drinking and being belligerent then pulled out a CIGAR and started smoking it. A female server confronted him, and snatched the cigar taking it behind the counter. The customer freaked hopped over the booth and followed the employee to the back of the restaurant. He pulled out a knife punched her and after she fell to the floor, he kicked her head and neck. Thankfully, he didn't cut her with the knife but someone who was WITH the guy tried to break it up, and THEY got cut, leaving blood behind the counter. That person left with the assailant so apparently they weren't too badly injured.
There's no word on the server's condition. And it doesn't sound like the police have arrested anyone yet.
