Applebee's Launches New Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwiches and Late-Night Promotion.

Applebee’s has announced new hand-breaded chicken sandwiches and a late-night promotion that will offer half-price appetizers during late night to help out value-conscious customers. Here’s what to expect: 

  • Bacon Cheddar Crispy Chicken Sandwich – available for a limited time for $13.99, it features two strips of Applewood-smoked bacon, two slices of cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and house-made tangy bacon sauce served on a Brioche bun. 
  • Bacon Ranch Crispy Chicken Sandwich – topped with two strips of Applewood-smoked bacon, pickles, shredded lettuce, and house-made ranch drizzle served on a Brioche bun. 
  • Sweet & Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich – hand-breaded chicken breast topped with Applebee’s signature coleslaw and Sweet Asian Chile Sauce served on a Brioche bun. 

There’s also a new late-night, half-priced appetizer promotion geared to value-conscious customers. Items on the menu include boneless wings, chicken wonton tacos, mozzarella sticks, spinach and artichoke dip, brew pub pretzels and beer cheese dip, chicken quesadilla, and brew pub-loaded waffle fries. The half-price deal is good all summer, seven days a week, online or dine-in. 

CMO Joel Yahshinsky for Applebee’s said “Applebee’s is the perfect late-night destination. Our late-night half-price appetizers offer a variety of snacks at a value you can’t beat.” Late-night offers vary by location at participating Applebee’s locations.

Taco Bell Adds Five New Items To The Menu.

Taco Bell has just announced the addition of 5 new items to their menus with some available nationwide in June and others being tested in select markets. Here’s a list of what’s coming: 

  1. Big Cheez-It Items – the new Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme showed up on menus on June 6 and features seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, lettuce, reduced-fat sour cream, diced tomatoes, and a giant Cheez-It cracker that’s 16 times larger than a normal cracker. Everything is loaded into a grilled tortilla and sells for $5.49. 

The new Big Cheez-It Tostada contains seasoned beef, lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and reduced-fat sour cream with the same giant Cheez-It cracker for $3.49. There’s also a new Big Cheez-It Box meal deal for $8.99 that comes with a Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, regular-sized Nacho Fries, and a medium fountain drink. All of the new Cheez-It items are available for a limited time. 

NUTRITION: Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme – 570 calories, 22g fat (8 g saturated fat, 0 g trans fat), 1,460 mg sodium, 75 g carbs (6 g fiber, 6 g sugar) and 17 g protein.

 

  1. Limonada Freezes – a new line of frozen drinks that include a lemonade-flavored Limonada Freeze, Strawberry Limonada Freeze with lemonade and strawberry flavors, and a Vanilla Crème Limonada Freeze with a swirl of vanilla crème. Regular 16-ounce Freezes are priced at $3.29 and 20-ounce versions go for $3.49. You can also get a regular Limonada Freeze for $1 during Taco Bell’s Happier Hour which goes from 2 to 5 p.m. 

NUTRITION: 16-ounce Limonada Freeze – 150 calories, 0 g fat, 95 mg sodium, 40 g carbs (0 g fiber, 40 g sugar) and 0 g protein.

 

  1. $3 Grilled Steak Burritos – these new items are being tested exclusively in Birmingham, AL. The Cheesy Melt Burrito features marinated, grilled steak, a melty three-cheese blend, and a new Jalapeño Poblano Ranch. The Chipotle Ranch Burrito contains the same grilled steak, chipotle Ranch, Avocado Ranch Sauce, lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheddar cheese. 

NUTRITION: Cheesy Melt Grilled Steak Burrito – 430 calories, 17 g fat (9 g saturated fat, 0 g trans fat), 1,110 mg sodium, 49 g carbs (3 g fiber, 4 g sugar) and 21 g protein.

 

  1. Cheesy Dipping Burritos – these new items feature two snack-sized burritos with the customer’s choice of steak, slow-roasted chicken, or seasoned beef with a three-cheese blend and ranch sauce. There’s an added three-cheese blend grilled on top of the burritos and they’re served with a choice of nacho cheese sauce, Chipotle sauce, or reduced-fat sour cream for dipping. The items are priced at $5.49 and are currently only available exclusively as a test item in the Detroit market. 

NUTRITION: Steak Cheesy Dipping Burritos – 480 calories

 

  1. Churro Chillers – these are Taco Bell’s first-ever shakes (Churro Chillers) that were tested late last year In California and this past April in Dallas and Chicago. They are remaining on menus in Dallas and Chicago this month while supplies last. The shakes are priced at $4.19 and are layered with crunchy churro crumbles on the bottom and top and are available in Mexican-inspired flavors including Sweet Vanilla, Dulce de Leche Coffee, Wild Strawberry, and Mexican Chocolate. 

NUTRITION: Sweet Vanilla Churro Chiller – 480 calories
