Beyoncé is being sued for inappropriate use of the phrase "Release a Wiggle". Here's the deal:
Beyoncé's song "Break My Soul" samples a 2014 song called "Explode" by Big Freedia.
That sample includes the phrase "Release your wiggle" over and over again.
But a New Orleans "bounce" group called Da Showstoppaz says the phrase was stolen from THEIR song "Release a Wiggle."
Da Showstoppaz say "Explode" illegally uses their "words, melody, and musical arrangement," and since Beyoncé sampled it, she's on the hook, too.
They're suing both Big Freedia and Beyoncé for unspecified compensation.
