MUSIC NEWS: Asking Alexandria Founder Quits The Band.

Asking Alexandria Founder Quits The Band.

He might have helped found the band, but Ben Bruce has decided it’s time to move on. The Asking Alexandria guitarist announced his departure from the band he launched in 2006 in Dubai, expressing his desire to spend more time with his family.

“I’ve spent my entire life dedicated to music,” the rocker admitted. “The time I have spent with all of you has been the time of my life. But now it’s time to dedicate my life to my family.” Just a year after his original lineup was put together, Bruce cut everyone and began anew in the UK before recording their first major record “Stand Up And Scream.”

Singer Danny Worsnop, drummer James Cassells and bassist Sam Bettley also still remain in the band from that era. And as of the writing, Asking Alexandria has neither commented on Bruce’s exit nor canceled their upcoming tour dates launching next month. Stay tuned, AA fans…

Green Day Says Finding New Music Through Algorithms Is Lazy

Do you actively seek out new music, or do you just let social media tell you what you should be listening to? If you're the latter type of person, Green Day wants you to WAKE UP.

Bassist Mike Dirnt says, quote, "Social media is great for kids, but if you're finding your music via algorithms then that's just lazy. All I can say is just clear your search history to find new [stuff]."

Billie Joe Armstrong adds, quote, "With all the algorithms that people live on, there's so much false information, and people is diagnosing themselves with Asperger's off TikTok. That's absurd to me."

Chris Stapleton on Sobriety: "It's a Disservice to Sober People to Call Me Sober" (MN)

Chris Stapleton just teamed up with Buffalo Trace to create his own signature whiskey called "Traveller Whiskey". But some people are confused, because recently he said in a "GQ" article that he was "all but sober".

Well, Chris would like to clarify a few things. As he likes to tell people, "he got in a drinking contest with himself in his 20s and lost." But now that he has kids, a lot has changed, including his drinking habits.

He went on to say, "It's a disservice to sober people to call me sober. I'm a 45-year-old man who has a lot more responsibilities and a lot less time for leisure than I used to have. But I do enjoy it. The first room you walk in at my house, there's probably 200 bottles of bourbon there."

So, while he's definitely not sober, he's gotten older and wiser. But it has got to be a test of will to see 200 bottles of booze as soon as you walk in your house.
