MUSIC NEWS: Creed's Mark Tremonti Announces Holiday Album, Drops Single

Creed's Mark Tremonti Announces Holiday Album, Drops Single

Mark Tremonti might be prepping to reunite with Creed next year, but he’s going to celebrate the holiday season first. The guitarist/crooner combo has announced a new holiday album, “Christmas Classics New & Old” due out on October 27th.

This album follows up his “Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra” release from last year, which raked in critical praise and earned a string of concerts in support of the album. To celebrate the announcement of the holiday LP, the Creed star has dropped its first single- his cover of the classic “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.”

Was Kurt Cobain Jealous of Dave Grohl?

Kurt Cobain may have been the leader of Nirvana . . . but behind the scenes, he was JEALOUS of Dave Grohl.

That's according to Michael Azerrad, who's releasing an expanded version of his biography "Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana".

He says there were times that Kurt would mock Dave for, quote, "being fairly together and normal."

He adds, quote, "He's a popular, well-adjusted guy . . . and I think partly Kurt was making fun of that because he wasn't a freak, like Kurt.

"And he also was jealous.  I think Kurt was a little bit jealous of Dave because Dave did have his act together."

Carrie Underwood Was "Super Nervous" Opening for Guns N' Roses

Carrie Underwood tore it up opening for Guns N' Roses last summer.  But she told "Las Vegas Magazine" that she was "super nervous" going into it because that's not her usual audience, and she had no idea how they'd respond.

This part is interesting too.  The whole thing started when the band reached out to her.  I think they knew she'd be interested, because she told them, quote, "You could pay me in tickets.  I'll sit up there and watch the show and just have fun."

Limp Bizkit (Kinda) Covers Korn At Louder Than Life:

Limp Bizkit has long been a fan of fellow rock band Korn. And in particular, they’ve often included the intro to Korn’s song “Blind” during their concerts- leading fans to wonder if they’ll ever play a full cover of the track. Well fans at Kentucky’s recent Louder Than Life Festival got as close as anyone to a full cover, as Limp Bizkit played a more extended section of “Blind.” They even included a bit of musical magic: with swapping instruments, including Fred Durst taking guitars while Wes Borland rocked the vocals.

Check that live-shot footage here.

As Promised, Sum 41 Releases New Single "Landmines”:

Just the other day we told you that Sum 41 was set to release their first new song in four years. It’s unclear at the moment if “Landmines” is part of what will be the band’s final album, “Heaven :x: Hell,” but it’s now available either way. Frontman Derek Whibley calls the track “an old school ‘pop punk’ song.”

Check out “Landmines” here.
